As a servant-leader and champion for diversity, equity and inclusion, I strive for excellence while forging kind, collaborative, inclusive, and ethical teams. I have spent 20 years igniting the imagination of diverse audiences through bold, creative engagement strategies; expanding access to the arts, especially for underserved students; and inspiring changemakers to positively impact their communities. Throughout my career, I have maximized organizational effectiveness and impact by aligning and leveraging resources, building consensus around a shared vision, and empowering high performing teams to realize the vision.
I provide consulting services as part of the Starfish Impact team and as an independent contractor, including board strategic planning, nonprofit capacity building, communications, branding, social media, development and fundraising. Clients include The J. Paul Getty Museum, New Horizons, Affordable Living for the Aging, Berman Family Foundation, C5LA, Community Magnet Charter School, Harbor Interfaith Services, and Promise Scholars. I am also available for speaking engagements.
I have compiled a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Social Justice and Racial Equity Glossary from numerous sources as part of my DEI research over the past year. The glossary totals 29 pages and pulls together more than 300 definitions related to diversity, equity, inclusion, social justice, and racial equity. I believe language matters and this glossary represents many hours of work and a significant effort to capture, define, and understand essential terms. I think educating ourselves is an important first step in our DEI leadership journey.
