“We create a place where the traumatized can feel cherished.” – Father Greg Boyle, Homeboy Industries. Last week I was inspired by the 25th annual Hilton Foundation humanitarian prize honoring Father Greg Boyle, founder of Homeboy Industries, the largest gang rehabilitation and re-entry program in the world.
Since many people have lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I’m reviving #LetLuce my curated social impact job blog to give back to my community and help people who have been laid off. I am driven by an insatiable desire to make a positive impact and for the past 20+ years I have worked in the nonprofit, philanthropy and arts sector. I have been privileged to be able to pursue my “occupassion,” and have professional opportunities that feed my soul and make a difference. By sharing my experience and knowledge of the field I hope to help those individuals who aspire to transition into a career with meaning and impact. Feel free to forward me nonprofit and social impact job opportunities at email@example.com & follow me on Twitter @luceinla.
